Malta is composed of 3 islands: Malta (the main island), Gozo (where is the BJJ GOZO CAMP) and Comino a very tiny island in between, where only one family lives. There is only one airport in Malta (the airport code is MLA), in a town named Luga on the main Island.
To get to Gozo from the airport, you can:
- Take the bus X1 in the direction of Cirkewwa (where you take the ferry to Gozo). Once you are in Cirkewwa you take the ferry (you only pay 4,35€ on the way back)
- Take a taxi for about €35 ("Bolt" or "eCab" applications are recommended for best service and prices). It takes about an hour to get to the Ferry (usually participants send an SMS to the organizer once they embark on the ferry). It takes 20 minutes to cross the channel between Malta and Gozo. Then BJJ Gozo Camp crew will wait for you on the other side at the Gozo port (Mggar). It is quite an exciting adventure, with the charm of the ferry and the beauty of the sea. Once you reach Gozo you feel like time has stopped its course. Look for a BJJ GOZO CAMP sign when you exit the building of the ferry terminal in Gozo, where are the taxis. From there you will be transported to the academy, which is located in the middle of the island of Gozo.
